Explore the Susquehanna’s Civil War history on this educational one-hour boat tour! Come aboard the Chief Uncas, a historic 113-year-old electric powered motor yacht built for beer tycoon Adolphus Busch to cruise the waters of Lake Otsego in Cooperstown, New York. Today the Chief Uncas cruises the Susquehanna 400 miles downstream as the flagship for SNHA’s River Discovery Tours! Take in the spectacular river views as SNHA guides you on a journey to view the stone piers that once held the world’s longest wooden covered bridge that was burned to prevent the Confederate militia from crossing. Make your plans to take this special theme boat tour during Riverfest weekend, honoring the anniversary of the fateful day the bridge was burned. Boat tours depart from the Zimmerman Center Thursday June 25 - Sunday June 28th at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm. Due to tour popularity, advance reservations are recommended. Visit susqnha.org/programs/boat-tours/ to view tour schedule and purchase tickets.
