Buckland Mills Battlefield

Located along Broad Run inside the Buckland Historic District, the battlefield here has so far escaped being overwhelmed by suburban development from nearby Gainesville. The running cavalry battle here moved east and west along the Warrenton Turnpike (modern U.S. Route 29). A wayside interpretive marker in front of the Redeemed Church of Christ describes the battle action. Some historic tablets associated with the battle are nearby.
