This is a landscape image of the Cross Keys battlefield on a cloudy, misty day.

Cross Keys Battlefield

Despite development in the region, the Cross Keys battlefield retains much of its rural charm. Along Virginia Routes 253, 679 and 708 you will find historical markers that will interpret the battle action. A small interpretive trail is accessible from Artillery Road. A printed driving tour map of the Battles of Cross Keys and Port Republic is available at the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center at 212 South Main Street in Harrisonburg.
