Fort Henry
While the location of Fort Henry was permanently submerged when the Tennessee River was dammed in the 1930s to create Kentucky Lake, visitors can see a small navigation beacon in the water marking the location of the northwest corner of the former fort. In addition, visitors can read a historical marker discussing the Battle of Fort Henry along a walking trail near the Fort Henry Trailhead in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
