Seven Pines Battlefield

Although lost to commercial and residential development, several historical markers trace the flow of the Seven Pines battle along modern U.S. Route 60 and Virginia Route 33 in and around Sandston. A marker on Casey Street in Sandston marks the site of the 鈥渢win houses鈥 and Casey鈥檚 Redoubt. Seven Pines National Cemetery, at the corner of Nine Mile Road and Route 60 in Sandston, has 1,357 Union dead from the battle, only 141 are known by name.
