Tom's Brook Battlefield

Most of this 1864 cavalry battlefield remains in private ownership but almost 500 acres have been preserved. Surrounding the walking trail to the wayside historic marker, located inside Shenandoah County Park, are cow pastures, reminding the visitor of the strategic objective of the Federal army during this campaign: the agricultural resources of the Shenandoah Valley.
