A regional history museum and Virginia visitor center located in a 1873 school building, the Fairfax Museum and Visitors Center features exhibits and information on Fairfax during the Civil War. Walking tours of Historic Fairfax are available during the fall and spring and include the following Civil War-related sites: Dr. William Gunnell House (ca. 1835), Fairfax County Courthouse (1800), Ratcliffe-Allison House (1812), Ford House (ca. 1835), as well as many other historic buildings.
