201 West Washington Street
Washington and Lee University
Lexington, VA 24450
United States

Completed in 1868, while Lee was President of Washington College, the chapel houses his office, a family crypt, and is the burial site of Traveller. The exhibition entitled "Educating to Build and Re-build a Nation" traces the history of education from the Colonies through Reconstruction. The rich history of Washington and Lee illustrates some of these major trends.
