Cassius Marcellus Clay, "the Lion of White Hall, " was an outspoken emancipationist, newspaper publisher, and minister to Russia under his friend Abraham Lincoln. This Italianate mansion, furnished in period pieces, was built for Clay and has many noteworthy features.
