Color Bearer Conference 2026

Formerly known as the Donor Thank You Weekend, the Color Bearer Conference is an annual, by invitation-only event, open to all Color Bearer members. You may register for yourself and one other person (such as a spouse or guest). This is a benefit of your Color Bearer membership.

We have a fun, history-filled weekend in store for you in Northern Virginia. We'll explore some of the most famous battlefields of the American Civil War, while also visiting land that you helped us to preserve at those sites. We'll be joined by top historians in the field, including Garry Adelman, Dennis Frye, John Hennessy, and more!

Refundable Deposit Policy

Each guest will place a $150.00 refundable deposit. This deposit secures your spot at the conference while helping us offset the costs of last-minute cancellations and event no-shows. This deposit is refundable if: you cancel your event registration on or before May 22, 2026, or attend the event and request a refund in your post-event survey.

How does the refundable deposit work?
1. Register for the event and place your deposit. 
2. Attend the event. 
3. Answer the deposit question on your exit survey (you may donate the deposit to the Trust or ask for a refund of your deposit). It's that simple.
4. All refunds will be issued to the credit card used in CVENT to place your deposit. All refunds will be issued on or before July 31, 2026. 
 
No refunds will be issued to anyone who cancels on or after May 22, 2026, or to any event no-show. Please see our FAQ page for more information.
