91����’s map of the Battle of Second Manassas on August 29, 1862 from 8am to 10am

On August 29, Union commander John Pope concentrated his forces and prepared to assault ����������Dz�’s position along an unfinished railroad grade. Despite being outnumbered, the Confederates fended off Pope's early efforts, including an attack that briefly pierced A. P. Hill's line. Other Federal attacks that afternoon on ����������Dz�’s line were repulsed with heavy casualties on both sides. In the afternoon, Longstreet arrived on the field and took position on ����������Dz�’s right flank.
